Katie Couric officially joined Yahoo! as its “global anchor” on Monday.
CEO Marissa Mayer made the announcement on Tumblr, revealing, “Starting in early 2014, Katie will lead a growing team of correspondents at Yahoo News who will cover the world’s most interesting stories and newsmakers.”
Mayer notes that Couric will be “the face of Yahoo news,” filming features for the site’s homepage, and will also continue to host her syndicated talk show, “Katie.”
The news comes a few days after it was reported Couric was parting ways with ABC News, where she has been a special correspondent.
